Welcome to the home of the
North Columbus Stars!

Our Vision for North Columbus Elementary

As stakeholders invested in the comprehensive education of young people and the development of the whole child, we have an opportunity to make North Columbus Elementary School unlike any other school in the Muscogee County School District where children customize their own learning, cultivate long-term relationships between peers and adult advocates, and explore personal interests outside the realm of academics.  In collaboration with parents, students, and community members, educators have an opportunity to begin the home-school connection that creates lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
-Dawn Upshaw
Mission Statement:  North Columbus School encourages discovery for creative and innovative thinking so that children become life-long learners empowered with essential life skills.

NCES uses Renaissance Learning's Enterprise.  This is a web-based approach to all of the Renaissance programs our school uses.  The programs we use are STAR Reading, Accelerated Reader, and STAR Math.  There are 100,000 quizzes available from AR.  1,000's are added each year!
Another valuable tool provided by Renaissance is AR Bookfinder.  Visit www.arbookfind.com to search for titles at the appropriate level that your child will find interesting and enjoyable.
